Retail

We help retailers and manufacturers create simple and engaging omni-channel shopping experiences that leverage each channel during the customer's purchase journey to inform and convert the sale.

 

We develop unique instore merchandising solutions, 360 degree marketing plans, and seasonal + gifting strategies for occasions such as birthdays, weddings and holidays.

Product 

We not only help manufacturers bring product solutions to market, we construct the product development timelines, cross functional team structure, and process management best practices to get the job done.

 

We develop short term and long term product development strategies, create and build brand principles and guidelines, develop design and packaging direction, construct the pricing and cost architecture, and identify sourcing and supply chain opportunities.

 

Launch

With retail representation at Target as one of our core competencies, we sell, manage and execute retail programs on behalf of our brand partners.  We help clients understand Target's needs, make persuasive presentations that create win/win scenarios for both the client and Target, close the sale, and manage the business post award.

Execution

After a brand launches at Target, we identify new assortment opportunities to grow the business further, including home location expansion, salesplans, seasonal assortments, and online extensions.

 

We identify and pursue segmentation and localization opportunities, create omni-channel pricing strategies, and build promotional plans that drive traffic and build basket size.

 

Finally, we handle all of the blocking and tackling -- vendor and item set ups, managing online content, publishing sales and inventory reporting, tracking purchase orders, etc.

 

Projects and Clients

Launched a New Kitchenware/Tabletop Assortment at an Australian Retailer

  • Identified who the primary customer is, how they shop, and what influences their purchasing behavior.
  • Developed the vision and strategy for the space, including the adjacency layout, instore signing, fixturing, e-commerce strategy, inventory management, promotional catalogs and pricing architecture.
  • Sourced 600 items from 20 suppliers and built an inventory strategy for stores and online.
  • Co-developed the sales training and development materials for instore team members.
  • Worked with store operations to develop new processes to ensure instore execution and online fulfillment.

Secured Instore and Online Placement at Target for Multiple New Organic Grocery Brands and New Home Brands (Lauching in 2016)

  • Secured space in Super Targets, general merchandise stores, and in segmentation stores (Healthy eating and Hispanic).

Omni-Channel Consulting + Product Design and Development for Multiple Home Vendors at Target

  • Developed new product solutions and omni-channel promotional plans.
  • Created exit strategies for non-carry forward and low performing product.
  • Identified and secured incremental business in secondary locations in the store.

Dean Koutroupas, President of Ploutos Retail Consulting LLC, has a 10 year proven track record at Target as a Buyer/Senior Buyer in driving market share, developing omni-channel strategies, creating innovative product solutions, maximizing supply chain efficiencies, and improving expense management. He's an omni-channel retail and product development expert with extensive experience in a variety of merchant roles at Target across Hardlines, Home and Grocery, including Toys/Sporting Goods, Hair Care, Office Electronics, Kids' Party and Entertaining, Kitchenware, and Dry/Dairy/Frozen Grocery.

 

At Target, he created and developed a new owned brand Kids' party line called "Spritz" and a new owned brand Kitchenware assortment under the "Threshold" brand.  He also launched over 30 new national brands and implemented several new merchandising experiences and solutions instore and online.
